Bettye Hall

Plantersville - Bettye Mae Hall, 84, died Sunday, December 14, 2014, at Madison Manor in Madison, Alabama, after an extended illness. She was born February 14, 1930, in Lee County to Fred and Betty Stanford. She was employed many years with Reed Manufacturing Company. In her later years, her love of children was evidenced by her working as a teacher's assistant at Plantersville Elementary School and as site supervisor for CASA. Bettye enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens, listening to music, reading, and sharing laughs with friends. After living many years in East Tupelo, she and Sammey moved to Plantersville and enjoyed the country life. As her illness progressed, she lived at Cedars Health Center and the Traceway Green Houses. Following the death of her husband, she moved to Madison Manor in Madison, AL to be near her daughter. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 16, 2014 from 4 to 8 p. m, W.E. Pegues, Tupelo. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues, Tupelo, with Rev. Danny Balint officiating. A graveside will follow at Lee Memorial Park. W.E. Pegues Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include one son, Barry Hall of Guntown; two daughters, Kathy Hull (Dennis) of Boone, NC, Phyllis Leonard of Huntsville, AL; one sister, Eubie Jean Hall of Tupelo, four grandchildren, Terri Hall, Barry (Buddy) Hall, Jr., Angela Aquino (Chris) and Trey Leonard; three great-grandchildren, Corrina Hall, Colby Hall and Cason Hall; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 59 years, Sammey Hall, and one brother, Fred Stanford, Jr. Pallbearers will be Freddie Ray Stanford, Robbie Hall, Justin Hall, Chris Shackleford, Casey Shackleford, and Richard Leonard.
