BETTY WATERS

Tupelo - BETTY JO WATERS, 76, died Wednesday, February 7, 2007, at her residence after an extended illness. A Mooreville native, she was born December 7, 1930 to the late David Solomon and Allie Mae Morgan Ballard. She was a graduate of Tupelo High School and captain of the basketball team. She was retired after 39 years as office manager for George Ruff Buick-Olds. Her life revoled around her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid sports fan and a devout fan of all Mississippi State sports. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where.

Services will be 3:30 p.m. Friday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Al Pleasant officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Britt and husband, Carl, of Lexington, Patty Tucker of Tupelo, and Kathy Carlock of Tupelo; one son, Billy Waters and wife, Susanne, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Stefanie Oliver and husband, Rodney, of Tupelo, Bo Britt of Lexington, Deana Carlock, of Tupelo, Jaime Lyn Trotter and husband, Beau, of Denver, Co., Traci Carlock of Tupelo, Tad Tucker of Tupelo, Zack Waters and wife, Sandie, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Ashley Strebe and husband, Paul, of Murfreesboro; six great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Oliver, Reed Tucker, Hannah Trotter, Bailey Britt, Beau Edmund Trotter, and Will Waters; one sister, Maxine Rou of Mobile, Ala.; and one brother, Gus Ballard and wife, Annette, of Endville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Preston and David Ballard; and two sisters, Fredia Marion and Annie Laura Bishop.

Pallbearers will be Dewayne Pearson, Terry Carlock, Bubba Tucker, John David Rogers, Leo James,and Perry Frederick

Honorary Pallbearers will be Don Winders, Bill Johnson and David Carr.

Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2007.
