BETTY ANN THOMAS
Tupelo - Betty Ann Thomas, 88, lifelong resident of Tupelo, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Diversicare in Tupelo. She was born March 11, 1929, to Luther and Roxie Fleming Gamble. Betty was a waitresses until she retired at the age of 70. She started out waitressing in the Peabody in Memphis and worked the longest at Nonie's Truck Stop. Betty was a hard worker and loved her family unconditionally. She was a wonderful cook and loved to cook for her family. She had a great heart for people and loved dogs, especially her dog, Suzie. She was Baptist by faith.
Survivors include her children, Marty Harlow of Shannon, Linda Roberts (Rick) of Mooreville and Steve Tucker of Tupelo; grandchildren, Michael Mask (Stephanie), Jamie Mask, Scottie Mask (Hannah) and Stacey Walton; great-grandchildren, Caleb Mask, Allie Mask, Laken Mask, Presley Mask and Cash Mask; three great-great-grandchildren; niece, Sandra Kay Richey and nephew, Elvis Allred.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Fleeta Lee Allred; brother, Harold Copeland Gamble and nephew, Sydney Finney
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2017, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Minister Leon Willis officiating. Burial will be in Belmont City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Mask, Caleb Mask, Jamie Mask, Shawn Aron, William Brookins and Shane Scribner.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Taylor and former employees at Nonie's Truck Stop.
