Betty Jean McCullough Bush
Plantersville - Betty Jean Bush, 86, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at home. She was born January 20, 1931, to Bilbo Bill and Clara Edna Kelly McCullough. She was raised in the Beech Springs Community. She married George Allen Bush December 31, 1959. Betty worked in many different professions, but she was most proud of raising her children and being the "neighborhood mom." Betty was an avid reader, book collector and loved to grow flowers. She loved people and enjoyed the outdoors, especially swimming and fishing since she could carry a pole.
Survivors include her husband, George Allen Bush of Plantersville; children, Bilbo Allen Bush (Martha) of Mantachie, George Thomas Bush of Plantersville, Susan Bush (Irene Scruggs) of Saltillo, Clara Kelly Bush (Tammie Vaughn) of Smithville; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Clarence Virginia "Jackie" McComb.
Visitation was from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2017, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
Services will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Doug Schulz officiating. Graveside services will follow in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Bush, James Winters, Mike Cruse, Ian McVay, James Mayo and Bobby Ellis.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Rudd Robinson, Dr. William Gary and Denise Voge.
