Olive Branch - Betty Adale (Hester) Heckman, 57, died Friday, January 28, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Collierville after an extended illness. She was born July 4, 1953 to Harold and Betty Jean Hester and grew up in the Tupelo area. For 30 plus years she lived in San Bernardino, California and the past six years she lived in Olive Branch. She loved her pets, Spencer, Tracy, Boots and Graby and was a member of ASPCA, The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. She was a wonderful interior decorator. She was a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Olive Branch.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2010 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors with Rev. Bob O'Neal officiating.
Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Kenneth Heckman of Olive Branch; her mother, Betty Jean Hester of Auburn Community; two sisters, Debra Hester and Peggy Hester Pounders both of the Auburn Community, Joe Raymond Hester of Tupelo and Harold Randy Hester of Auburn Community; two nephews, Jesse Holladay of Auburn Community and Shawn Hester of Florence, Alabama; one niece, Donna Kay Hester of Saltillo.
She was preceded in death by her father Harold "Junior" Hester and grandmother, Annie Bell Steen.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time, Tuesday at the funeral home.
