Saltillo- Betty Louise McNutt Blissard, 90, died Sunday, December 16, 2018. She was born on September 24, 1928 to William Pleasant "Bill" and Lottie Mary Fain McNutt. Betty married Wesley Blissard on January 17, 1954.



Betty had several loves in her life. She loved her husband, her children and grandchildren, gardening and watching her St. Louis Cardinals. She was an avid gardener and always shared what she grew with neighbors and friends. Although she will be missed, her family takes comfort in knowing that she lived a great life and it ended with no pain as she died peacefully in her sleep.



Betty was able to celebrate her 90th birthday on September 24 with her family and was able to hug and kiss her family the weekend before she died.



Survivors include two sons, Malcolm Blissard (Annette) of Houston, Texas and James Blissard (Patty) of Saltillo; and five grandchildren, Miya Blissard, Ian Blissard, Aiden Blissard, Chris Cook and Charla Laney.



She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Herschel, Harold, Tom, and Roy McNutt; and three sisters, Lottie Smith, Evelyn Smith, and Kitty Long.



Services honoring her life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Saltillo First United Methodist Church, 737 Old Highway 45 Saltillo, MS 38866, with Rev. Tim Green officiating. Graveside services will follow at Saltillo Cemetery on Lake Lamar Bruce Road. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.



Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the church.



Pallbearers will be Malcolm Blissard, Paul Pouland, Don Long, Robert Long, Jim Long, and Allen Francis.



Memorials can be made to Saltillo First United Methodist Church, 737 Old Highway 45 Saltillo, MS 38866.
