Betty J. Barron

Betty Joe Barron passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at the Sanctuary Hospice House. She was 88 years old. Born February 28, 1935 in Tupelo, she was the daughter of Noel and Alma Turner Webb. Betty worked as an inspector for Tecumseh for 18 years. A woman of strong faith and dedication to her Lord and Savior, she was a longtime faithful member of Harrisburg Baptist Church. She loved being outdoors on many happy camping trips. Betty’s family will always remember her wonderfully prepared meals served with love and kindness.
Betty leaves behind her husband of 50 years, Rickie Barron; four children, Trent Weatherford of Guntown, Pam Wilbanks (L.J.) of Amory, Greg Weatherford (Kathy) of Tupelo, and Chad Weatherford (Paula) of Guntown; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren, Matthew Weatherford and Christy Wilbanks; and five siblings.
Visitation will be 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Pegues, Tupelo.
Services honoring Betty’s memory will be 1 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2023 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues with Dr. Forrest Sheffield officiating. Graveside services will follow at Lee Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Brad Weatherford, Jason Weatherford, Josh Wilbanks, Zack Wilbanks, Morgan Weatherford, and McKenzie Weatherford.
