Betty Scott Adcock

Tupelo - Betty Scott Adcock, 68, died Saturday, September 13, 2008, at her home after an extended illness. She was born May 31, 1940 to Hayes and Joyce Howerton Scott. She was a 1958 graduate of Tupelo High School and also attended Mississippi College. She was a life-long resident of Tupelo and was a member of First Baptist Church. She retired from the National Park Service as a budget analyst with the Natchez Trace Parkway. She was an avid animal lover and had a life-long passion for horses.

Services will be 3 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2008 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Randy Von Kanel officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Scott Adcock and his wife, Barbara Jones Adcock, of Raeford, North Carolina; one brother, Leland Patrick Scott and his wife, Peggy Mayfield Scott, of Merritt Island, Florida; and a special friend, Bobby Matthews, of Pontotoc.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Tupelo-Lee Humane Society.
