BETTIE ROBBINS Tupelo - Bettie Van Robbins, 76, died Monday, May 6, 2013, at The Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. A Crosby native, she was born February 8, 1937, to Wesley Vanshack and Eva Lee Cole King, and lived in Tupelo for the past 50 years. After graduating from Crosby High School, she went on to attend Hinds Junior College. She and her first husband built the first Burger King and Westeren Sizzler in Tupelo. She loved working in her yard and her flower beds. She was a member of Jackson Street Baptist Church. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Keith Cochran and Rev. Bert Harper officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Doc Robbins of Tupelo; one daughter, Angel Williams (Rick) of Decatur Alabama; one son, Lance Young of Tupelo; one grandaughter, Emma Kate Williams of Decatur, Alabama; one grandson, Sam Wooley of Dallas, Texas; and son-in-law, Eric Davidofsky of Collierville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Robert Young; one daughter, Tracee Davidofsky; three sisters, Maxine "Mickey" McGraw, Mildred Campbell and Erma King; one brother, David King; and infant son, Forrest Young. Pallbearers will be Gerald Powell, Gerald Stanford, Greg Harris, Brad McGraw, Mike Williams and Mark Durham. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the funeral home.
