Tupelo - Bette Joyce Herndon Campbell, 76, died Thursday, September 7, 2017 at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born February 12, 1941 to Ollie and Mavis Hazel Herndon in the Brewer Community.
Early in her youth, Bette moved with her family to Tupelo where she graduated from Tupelo High School in 1958. She lived in Kingman, Arizona for nearly 10 years before moving back to Tupelo in 1970. Bette was self employed in the cleaning service for a number years. She enjoyed watching the Home & Garden Network, watching the wildlife in her yard and working in her flower gardens, especially her rose garden. Bette also loved her pet Pomeranian, “Bugger”.
Survivors include her husband of 25 years, David L. Campbell of Tupelo; son, Ray Herndon Parker of Tupelo; brother Edd Herndon (Carol Ann) of Tupelo; and sisters, Sarah Pearce (Robert) of Mantachie and Teresa Wright (Donnie) of New Albany.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Jett and Ricky Parker; and the father of her children, Jeff Wayne Parker.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2017 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors with Rev. Greg Herndon officiating. Burial will be in Fawn Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Saturday, September 9 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
