BETSY BOYD PINCKLEY
Betsy Boyd Pinckley, age 79, of Nashville, Tenn., formerly of Calvert City, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012, at Alive Hospice in St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
Mrs. Pinckley was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Marvin Pinckley; her mother, Katie Boyd, and her father, James Boyd.
Mrs. Pinckley is survived by her son, James C. Pinckley of Houston, Texas; her daughter, Kathryn P. Berhow and her husband, Brian Berhow of Franklin, Tennessee; and three grandchildren, Thompson, Emily, and Boyd Berhow of Franklin, Tennessee.
Mrs. Pinckley was born in Saltillo, Miss. She graduated from The School of Medical Technology in Memphis, Tenn., received her bachelor of science degree from Belmont College in Nashville, Tenn., and received her master of arts in education from Murray State University, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Pi, an honor society in education. Mrs. Pinckley began teaching in 1971 and taught in the Marshall County School System for over 27 years. She served as president of the Marshall County Teachers? Association for two consecutive terms.
Mrs. Pinckley was an active member of Forrest Hills Baptist Church since relocating to Nashville in August, 2011. Prior to moving, she was a dedicated and active member of Calvert City First Baptist Church for over 40 years. Mrs. Pinckley was recognized as ?A Lady of Calvert? in 2011. She was very accomplished with needlepoint and won awards for her beautiful work.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Calvert City First Baptist Church. The Rev. Jim Ewing will officiate.
