Beryl Carson
Shannon- Beryl Juanita Carson, 91, died Saturday, March 18, 2023 at North Mississippi Medical Center.
Beryl was born December 26, 1931, to Sam and Christine Sargeant Benson. She attended Shannon High School, after which she married her husband of 68 years, Bennie Ray Carson, who died in 2017. The family they created together was what Beryl cherished most in this world and she lived to see and hold its fifth generation.
Mama Beryl, as she was lovingly known, will be remembered for her hospitality, her love for children, her care for the elderly and the sick, and her bountiful Sunday lunches, which she prepared every week for over 50 years. Most of all, she will be remembered for loving well; her heart, home, and table were open to all.
She is survived by two children, Kenny Carson and Sherry Mask (Wayne), all of Brewer; four grandchildren, Ken Carson (Christa) of Olive Branch, Emily Burleson (Mark) of Brewer, Ben Mask, of Brewer, and Lane Kelly (Dusty) of Pontocola; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Monday, March 20, 2023, at Brewer United Methodist Church.
Services honoring her life will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2023 at Brewer United Methodist Church with Rev. Kerry Powell officiating. Burial will be at Brewer Cemetery. Pegues Funeral Director’s is in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Kelly, Sam Burleson, Bo Mask, Luke Overton, Jack Hamilton, and John Benjamin “Buck” Robbins.
