BERTIE STOGNER SIMMONS Saltillo - Bertie Stogner Simmons, 83, passed away to be her with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at her residence.  A Walthall County native, she was born December 4, 1932 to Thomas C. “T. C.” and Rebecca Janes Vince. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Saltillo where she served The Lord faithfully. She was a loving, generous, kind person and a wonderful cook. Bertie delighted in preparing meals for her family and friends. Services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the Saltillo Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Ronnie Hatfield officiating.  Graveside services will follow in Saltillo Cemetery.  W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include sons; Timothy Stogner (Brenda) of Saltillo, Eric Stogner of Saltillo; sisters, Elgie Crain of Denham Springs, Louisiana, Minnie Golden of Covington, Louisiana; nine gradchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; special nieces and nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers; sisters; son, Mark T. Stogner; a wonderful husband of 40 years, Marhsall L. Stogner; and husband of 15 years, Sterling Simmons. Visitation will be held 1 until 3 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2016 at W.
