BENJAMIN W. MORSE
Tupelo - BENJAMIN WILSON MORSE, 84, died Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at his residence after a brief illness. A Rochester, New York native, he was born April 12, 1922. He was a mason and a Shriner and lived most of his life in Sacremento, California. His career was spent in the military, serving in the US Navy in the submarine service during World War II and the underwater demolition during the Korean Conflict. He was awarded the Naval Cross, Silver Star, Bronze Star and many other service medals. He also served 8 years in the Coast Guard, serving a total of 26 years in the military. He and his wife moved to Tupelo in 2002
A Memorial Services will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Sean Tutor officiating.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Bebe Orliet Morse of Tupelo; two sons, Ronald Morse of Phoenix, AZ and Patrick Morse of Tupelo; one brother, Jack Boyd Morse and wife, Marcia, of California; six grandchildren, Michael Scott Morse, Melissa Hope Morse, and Kathryn Leigh Morse, James Robert (Rob) Morse, Jonathan Morse, Julie Braithewaite; great-grandchildren, Harmony Shyan and Autumn Sky, Jessilynn Morse, Rachel, Ryan and Leighton Braithewaite, Alexandria, Christopher, and Julieanna Morse.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Carrie Young and a brother, Bob Morse.
