BEN HALLMARK Baldwyn - Benjamin Franklin Hallmark, 91, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at his residence. A lifelong resident of Lee County, he was born November 1, 1920 to Wiley Elick and Mary Parker Hallmark. He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he used his talents as an accomplished fiddle player to entertain the troops in Cohns, France. For a number of years, he played in a number of local country music bands. He was the owner of Hallmarks Jewelry in Nettleton for fifteen years and later worked in the jewelry repair with Gibson's in Tupelo. Services with military honors will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Jerry Hallmark officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery. Survivors include one son; Eddie Wayne Hallmark of Atlanta, Georgia; one brother, Sam Hallmark of West Memphis, Arkansas; two brothers-in-law, Robert Parker of Tupelo and Robert Holcomb of Plantersville; seven nephews and their families; six nieces and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, David, Vess and Ruel Hallmark; two sisters, Elsie Parker and Mona Holcomb. Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. until service time May 26, 2012, at the funeral home.
