June 12, 1941 — October 30, 2015

BARCLAY P. ROBERTS Tupelo - Barclay P. Roberts, 74, passed away peacefully at his homestead in Dogwood Hills on October 29, 2015 after succumbing to terminal illness. He was born in St Joseph, MO in 1941-the eldest of five children to Jesse and Jane Roberts. He graduated from MSU as a civil engineer in 1965, and moved to Tupelo in 1973 to work at Tupelo Concrete Products, from which he retired in 2007. His early years in Tupelo included participation with Tupelo Community Theater in almost every aspect of play productions- on and off stage. In his later years, he volunteered with Sanctuary Hospice House and their Celebration Village. He enjoyed retired life immensely and his hobbies were many: welding and landscape art, golf, Harley Davidsons (God bless America), WW2 planes, muscle cars, NHRA, limericks, and card games- just to name a few. He is survived by his beloved wife Ellen Roberts; his daughter Jamie Roberts; stepdaughter, Kim Reeder (Walt, son Windham); stepson Jason Jenkins; and four sisters, Christina (Don), Terre (Barry), Nancy (Jack), and Patricia (Alan). Lifelong friend Charlie Hackett is also included as a virtual brother. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Jane; and his wife Martha Roberts who passed away in 2000. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m., Sunday November 1, 2015 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo. A memorial service at 3:00 p.m. at The Jefferson of W. E. Pegues in Tupelo with Rev Barry Male officiating and speakers will be Jamie Roberts, daughter, and Charlie Hackett, brother. Music will be provided by Clay's sisters, Terre, Nancy, and Pete. In lieu of flowers, Clay wished for donations to be made to Tupelo-Lee Humane Society, 2400 S. Gloster, Tupelo, MS 38801 or to St Jude CRH, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN. 38105 Expressions may be left at www.peguesfuneralhome.com
