Barbara Thrasher

Mantachie - Barbara Nell Thrasher, 52, died Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A native of Clarksdale, she was born August 13, 1957 to Jimmy Lee and Bobby Nell Pettit Boling. She was a homemaker and had been a resident of Mantachie for the past 20 years. She enjoyed camping, fishing and loved spending time with her grandchildren

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Roland Dempsy officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Roger Thrasher of Mantachie; two daughters, Barbara Smith (Ronald) and Sherry Davidson all of Mantachie; one brother, Johnny Boling of Mantachie; four grandchildren, Paytence Smith, Nicholas Smith, Alexis Smith, and James Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Rubel Dale Thrasher; a sister, Iness Merchant; and a brother Jimmy Boling, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Smith, Ricki Franks, Robert Franks, Robbie Wilson, William Tackett, Steven Childers, and Daniel Austin.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
