NETTLETON - Barbara J. Hester, 62, died Saturday, June 9, 2007, at the Tupelo Nursing Center after a lengthy illness. She was born Oct. 24, 1944, in Lee County to Belmon Hutcheson and Myrtle Campbell. She was a longtime resident of Nettleton. She was a homemaker and a loving mother. She was a member of Faith Outreach in Okolona. She was an avid race fan, collecting what-nots and going to her church with her family. She was the widow of Jimmy Hester.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Nettleton with the Rev. Jimmy Bryan officiating, assisted by the Rev. Scott Kitchens. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors of Tupelo is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Sonya Barnett and Allen of Nettleton; one son, Delayne Hester and Lisa of Nettleton; two sisters, Vance Simmons of Saltillo and Evelyn Moore of Tupelo; two brothers, Buck Hutcheson of Memphis and Jesse Carter of Olive Branch; her mother, Myrtle Hutcheson of Tupelo; and four grandchildren, Joseph Hester, Jordan Hester, Corey Barnett and Blake Barnett.
She was preceded in death by her father; her husband; and one brother, Bud Lee.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Edwards, Keith Flurry, Darus Bynum, Randy Harmon, Sammy Kimble and Rocky Roper.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at Tisdale-Lann Funeral Home in Nettleton.
