B. VICTORIA HICKS

Moorevile - B. Victoria “Vicki” Hicks, 85, long time resident of Mooreville, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 14, 2016, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born February 18, 1931, to Herman McElwain and Florence Dale Edwards. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking Sunday lunches for her family, sewing and gardening. She took great pride in being a loving mother and grandmother. Vicki was a longtime member of Boguefala Baptist Church.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Ministers David Perry and Royce Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Survivors include two sons, Larry Hicks (Marilyn), Phillip Hicks (Susan); seven grandchildren, Tracey Wilburn (Perry), Kim Root (Chris), April Boykin (Dustin), Jesse Hicks, Lauren Hicks, Tucker Hicks and Carson Hicks; six great-grandchildren, Payton Wilburn, Jackson Root, Stella Root, Charleston Root, Abbey Gonzales and Isla Boykin; brothers, Herman “June” McElwain Jr., Marvin “Bud” McElwain (Barbara) and Bobby McElwain (Lorraine); sisters, Dorothy Graff, Gloria Lesley, and Brenda Wade; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hubert Hicks, infant daughter Brenda Gayle Hicks; one son, Terry Lin Hicks; one grandson, Terry Shane Hicks and one great-grandson, Brayden Lee Coley. Pallbearers will be Perry Wilburn and Chris Root. Honorary pallbearers will be her brothers. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at W. E.
