Ava Tellish

April 1, 1908 — September 28, 2007

IukaAva Schoggen Tellish, 99, died Friday, September 28, 2007, at the Tishomingo Hospital. A native of Booneville, she was born April 1, 1908, to the late John H. and Mary Etta Thornton Schoggen. She had worked as a school teacher for 13 years and also as a correspondence supervisor with the F.B.I. for 20 years. She was a member of the Homemakers Club, the National Association of Federal Retirees, A.A.R.P., and the Genealogy Society. She was active in church work at Gloster Street Church of Christ and worked with the Abused Women and Childrens Home in Tupelo and also the Pinevale Childrens Home in Corinth.

Services will be1 p.m. Saturday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Ministers Joe Connel and Ron Deaton officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors include two nieces, Mary Lou Northington of Belmont and Billie Jean Caver of Baldwyn; and a host of great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
