Aubrey Harris

June 11, 1929 — April 20, 2018

Hebron - Aubrey Harris went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 20, 2018 at 88 years of age. A native of the Hebron Community, he was born on June 11, 1929 and was the only child of Manering P. and Ethel Young Harris. His family attended Hebron United Methodist Church where he remained an active member until his death. He attended Saltillo High School and served in the Korean War. He worked 36 years at Mid-South Packers (Southern Belle Foods) and had also worked at Gibson Container until his retirement. On January 15, 1955, he married the former Laura Mae Mann and together were blessed with three children.



Survivors include his wife; his three children, David Harris and his wife, Judy of Mantachie, Barbara Hurt and her husband, Danny of Saltillo, Cecil Harris and his wife, Jencie of Amory; five grandchildren, Scott Hurt, Jennifer Hopkins, Jodi Ross, Rebecca Carey and Bethanie Harris; and two great-grandchildren, Riley and Ryder Ross.



He was preceded in death by his parents.



The family will receive visitors Saturday, April 21, 2018 5 until 7 p.m. at W.E. Pegues, Saltillo.



Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2018 at the Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Tim Green and Rev. Truman Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Springhill Presbyterian Cemetery. There will be no graveside service.



Pallbearers will be Leon Griffin, Rendell Hill, Larry Johnson, Ron Lindley, Brad Mann and Tyrone Sanders.



Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Cullum, Mike Dillard, Raymond Givham, Rush Robbins and John Sanders.



Memorials may be made to the Springhill Cemetery Fund ATTN: Malcolm McMullan, 261 CR 1742 Saltillo, MS 38866.



The service will be live streamed and recorded for those who may not be able to attend at www.peguesfuneralhome.com .
