ARNOLD WILLIS

Auburn - James Arnold Willis, 74, died Monday, February 1, 2010, at The Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. A lifelong resident of the Auburn Community, he was born June 27, 1935, to William and Alma Beatrice McCullough Willis. He served as an airman in the US Air Force, receiving several citations and awards. He was retired from Electric and Machine Service, formerly Hancock Electric, where he worked for 32 years. Earlier he owned Tupelo Electric Motor Repair for eight years. He enjoyed gardening and taking care of his animals. His family and friends remember him as one who could be called upon at any time to help someone in need.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, February 4, 2010 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Wesley Kingsley officiating. Burial will be in Priceville Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Norma Faye Willis of Tupelo; one daughter, Terry Bradley (Barry) of Eggville; two sons, Gary Willis (Cecilia) of Saltillo and Steve Willis (Nina) of Athens, Ga.; two brothers, Linal "Sarge" Willis of Tupelo and Hayden "Boots" Willis (Diane) of Skyline; two sisters, Agnes Smith (Leon) of Tupelo and Kathleen Hussey (Jimmy) of Mooreville; four grandchildren, Jessica Bradley, Sarah Bradley, Chance Willis, and Hayden Willis.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Doris Willis.

Pallbearers will be James Smith, Tommy Smith, Chris Smith, Tim Smith, Philip Willis

Honorary Pallbearers will be his co-workers at Electric Machine Works .

Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
