ARLENE ROBERTS
Tupelo - Arlene Roberts, 89, passed away Friday, November 20, 2015, at Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born March 30, 1926, to Floyd and Estelle Patterson Hankins. She worked at Lucky Star Industries at the Tupelo, Baldwyn and Nettleton locations for over 45 years before retiring. Arlene enjoyed watching sports and reading in her spare time. She loved cooking for her friends and family and would travel all over the country to see her grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in sports. She was a longtime faithful member of Parkway Baptist Church for over 60 years.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 23, 2015, at Parkway Baptist Church with Rev. Matt Scopel officiating. A graveside service will follow at Mt. Hebron United Methodist Cemetery in Alabama under the care of W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors, Tupelo.
Survivors include her sons, James O. Roberts (Diane) and Curtis Roberts (Donna) both of Tupelo; grandchildren, Leigh Barnett, Lisa Williams, Lori Bishop (Chad), Reanna Roberts, Brian Roberts (Tammy), Jason Roberts (Mona), Wesley Roberts (Kasey), DeAnna Dabbs (John), Ben Spigner (Christy); 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; sister-in-law, Oletha Hankins of West Point.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, John Thomas Hankins, her infant daughter and great-grandson, Nicholas Spigner.
Pallbearers will be Chris Barnett, Grant Bishop, Micheal Williams, Chad Bishop, Brandon Walker, Brian Roberts, Jason Roberts, Wesley Roberts, Ben Spigner, and John Dabbs.
Visitation will be 3 - 5 p.m. Sunday, November 22, 2015, at Parkway Baptist Church.
