Antonio "Bookie" Clay

d. February 11, 2016

My Life as Antonio Lamar “Bookie” Clay   Well family it pains me to say this, but I have passed away. I knew it would happen someday. I know none of us expected it or even wanted this to happen. I'm flying high and I will see you again one day. On Monday, August 6, 1984 in Greenwood Ms. I was blessed with life. I was the second child of Andrew and Mary Carter. I was welcomed by my older brother Andrew Clay and later Tannisha Clay joined our family. My love for the Lord began as a small child and I was eventually baptized at New Thessolonia M.B. Baptist Church in Itta Bena MS. I received my education in the Leflore County Public School System. I attended Leflore County High School where I played football and I was a beast on the field. The positions I played were offensive guard and defensive tackle. I received my high school diploma in May of 2003. I went on to attend Mississippi Valley State University. I later moved to Starkville Ms and began working at Walmart. A little bit later I met and fell in love with Katari Mosby and I moved to Tupelo Ms. I welcomed her 2 girls Tionna and Arianna as if they were my own. We married June 22, 2013. We eventually had a son of our own on November 10, 2015. I was the happiest man on the planet. Even though I was only with him for a very short time, I will forever be his dad and I love him dearly. Family and friends, I am so sorry I had to leave so suddenly, it was my time now. I have left a piece me behind, my son and he will need you all. I love you all so much. Until we meet again, “Munchy” Now you may think my time here was too short, but we all know quality exceeds quantity and I have enjoyed my time here with each and every one of you! On Wednesday, February 10, 2016, my Savior tapped me on my shoulder and told me that my work here was done, so I returned home. I was preceded in death by my grandmother Bessie Lee Clay, and my grandparents J. C. and Elnora Carter. My memory will live on forever with my wife, Katari Clay, my son Lamar "AJ" Clay, my stepdaughters Tionna Mosby and Arianna Shaw, all of Tupelo, Ms. My mother, Mary Carter, my siblings Andrew Clay and Tannisha Clay all of Itta Bena, Ms. My dad Andrew (Dorothy) Carter of Morgan City, Ms. My special cousin Reginald Freeman of Itta Bena, Ms. My god brother Seneca (Shay) Carter of Itta Bena, Ms. In addition I have a host of aunties, uncles, cousins, friends and classmates
