Antonio "Tony" Ceja

Verona - Antonio "Tony" Ceja, 64, peacefully departed his earthly journey on December 4, 2017 at North Mississippi Medical Center, following an extended illness. A family man of high Christian standards, Tony always insisted on a prayer before the dissolution of any family gathering. His family looked to him as a protector, a provider, and a faithful prayer warrior, regardless of any obstacle that had risen. He took his responsibilities very serious in his family, work, church, and friends. In 1983, Tony opened Ceja Auto Upholstery and Supplies after working for several years in the automotive upholstery industry. Shortly after opening his own business he married Cherri Melson. Until his decline in health, Tony was extremely involved with his church, First Pentecostal Church of Verona. He was over the breakfast ministry for several years and served as head usher, greeter and former board member. Tony truly was passionate about God and family.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Cherri Ceja; daughter, Crystal "Christie" Kramer and husband, Brian of Pontotoc; sons, Dusty Ceja of Baldwyn and fiancé, Laken Baughman of Verona and Clint Ceja of the home; step-sister, Melissa Strickland; step-brothers, Barney M Pannell, Carlos "Pablo" Pannell, Herman Pannell, and Lewis Pannell and granddaughters, Aria Kramer and Georgia Rose Turner.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Jacinto-Ceja Pannell; step-father Barney Pannell; brother, Joey Pannell and grandson, Derek Harmon.
