ANTHONY "TONY" SANSONE



Tupelo - Anthony F. Sansone, 76, died Monday, November 27, 2017 after a extended illness. A native of Memphis, Tenn., he was born April 9, 1941 to Anthony and Josephine Sansone. He was a devoted father and grandfather and was affectionately called "Pepaw". He had a passion for selling cars, driving the school bus for the Tupelo Public School District, spending time with family and his canine companion, Annie.



Survivors include his children, David Sansone of Memphis, Tenn., Steven Sansone of Hawaii, Randy Gentry (Lisa) of Houston, Tex., Richie Sansone (Vanessa) of Plantersville and Kristi Sansone of Tupelo; grandchildren, Joseph Gentry of Houston, Tex., Mark Sansone of Plantersville, Randi Chacon (Jacob) of Houston, Tex., Kayleigh Sansone of Tupelo, Skylar Sansone of Plantersville, Karleigh Sansone of Tupelo, Ashley Sansone (David Gruthoff) of Memphis, Tenn. and Addison Sansone (Shelby) of Dyersburg; four great-grandchildren, Adaleigh Kate Chacon and Braylin Eric Gruthoff, Cayleigh Chacon and Caydence Chacon; cousin, Billy Aldridge and a special friend, Mrs. Lou.



He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Josephine Sansone; wife of 42 years, Linda Sansone; grandson, Eric Jon Sansone; brothers, Sam Sansone and aunt, Joyce Aldridge.



Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.



Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Douglas Kitchens officiating and Terry Couch delivering the eulogy. Graveside services will follow in Tupelo Memorial Park.



Pallbearers will be Jerry Ray, Dennis Lautenbach, Dwayne Pearson, Drew Clark, John Morgan and John Lettieri.



Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Houston, James Rogers, Terry Couch, the TPSD Transportation Department and former employees of Dwayne Blackmon Chevrolet.
