Annie Pearl Moore Richey died Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the Springhill Medical Center in Mobile, Alabama after a brief illness. She was born in Lee County to Ed and Alma Moore. She had been a life-long resident of Tupelo until moving to Mobile, Alabama two years ago to be near her sons and their families. Mrs. Richey was a long time member of the First Baptist Church, Tupelo where she taught in the children's department for many years.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2008 in the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Dr. Randy Von Kanel officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.


Survivors include two sons, Don Richey (Kathy) of Fairhope, Alabama, and Terry Richey, (Pat) of Mobile, Alabama; her grandchildren, Dr. Melissa Petty (Kevin) of Boulder, CO, Dr. Virginia Richey of Denver, CO, Kathryn Richey Collier (Garrett) of St. Louis, Missouri, and Laura Allyson and Abby Elizabeth Richey both of Mobile; her great-grandchildren, Lelia Petty and Sabina Petty; her nieces, Pauline Hawkins (Billy) of Nettleton, Betty Evans Tsakonas of Tampa, Florida, and Barbara Evans Bruton of Hollandale; one nephew, Jimmy Moore of Nettleton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fletcher Lee Richey; two granddaughters, Robin Carol Richey and Mary Parish Richey; her sisters, Inez Evans and Ila Parish; and her brothers, Thomas Moore, Mitchell Moore and Willie Moore.

Pallbearers will be Larry Booth, Jim Donald, Joe Gary, Joe Shetler, Stanley Stone and Wayne Turner.

Don and Terry wish to thank the many friends who have been so encouraging and supportive of their Mother through the years and especially through her move to Mobile.

Visitation will be Friday, April 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Global Outreach International, the Spring Hill Baptist Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
