ANNIE V. PRESLEY
Tupelo" Annie V. Presley, 86, died Thursday, February 21, 2008, at Community Hospice at Darlington Oaks after a lengthy illness. She was born August 26, 1921, in Pritchard, Alabama to the late Robert Marion and Hattie Virginia Butler Cloyd. Earlier in her life, she worked a number of years as a seamstress with Reed's Manufacturing. Later she worked as a nurses aide with the North Mississippi Medical Center. For over 25 years she owned and operated a childcare business on Berry Street in East Tupelo. She was raised in South Tupelo and had lived most of her adult life in East Tupelo. She doted over her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was a member of East Heights Baptist Church.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2008, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Terry Ledbetter and Rev. Michael Bowers officiating. Burial will be in Priceville Cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Sybil Clark and her husband, Raymond, of Eupora, Diane Yant of Verona, and Rhonda Hall and her husband, Alan, of Mooreville; one son, Sales M. Presley of Tupelo; one sister, Alice Trumper of Eupora; one brother, Tommy Cloyd of Burlin, Maryland; 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren..
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Sales Presley, J. D. Presley, and Hubert McCullough; two daughters, Doris Willis and Barbara Sue Presley; a great grandson, Matthew Presley; and many brothers and sisters..
Pallbearers will be Michael Willis, Phillip Willis, Sales Presley, Jr., Bradley Presley, Samuel Whitt, Bubba Yant, Charles Yant, Billy Joe Yant, Eddie Yant, and Dallas Hall.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2008.
