ANNIE MITCHELL Annie Kathryn Morris Mitchell went to be with her Lord on September 30, 2014, at the age of 88. She had been a long time resident of Sherman, and was a resident of Laney House at Traceway Retirement Community at the time of her death. She was a member of Sherman Baptist Church where she served lovingly in many capacities in years past. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William Tyson Mitchell. She is survived by two children, Jeanette Evans (Al) and Perry Mitchell (Peggy), 4 grandchildren, Melodi Evans Terhune, Angela Mitchell Aquino, Mark Evans, and James Mitchell, along with 3 great granddaughters, Morgan Grace, Sheafer Lynn, and Harper Ann Evans, one brother, Rev. Jimmy Morris (Amy), and her first cousin Forrest Ann Daniels. Funeral services will be held at Sherman Baptist Church on Saturday, October 4 at 1 p.m. with a graveside to follow at Sherman Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Home of Tupelo is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, any memorial gifts may be made to a favorite charity of hers, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Memphis, TN. Visitation will be Friday, October 3, 2014, from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
