Saltillo - Gladys Annette Murphy, 63, died Monday, February 14, 2011, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born December 30, 1947 to Riley G. and Lequetta Lewellen Murphy. Formerly of Irving, Texas, she worked as a customer service representative for Federal Express for 30 years. She lived in Saltillo the past three years. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, working in her flower garden, and was an avid reader. She loved her little dog, Katy, and the speical times she spent with family and friends. She attended Faith Baptist Church of Saltillo.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. James Towery and Rev. Marvin Murphy officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
Survivors include her sister, Glenda Sanders (Danny) of Blue Springs; her brother, Dennis Murphy (Jeanette) of New Albany; her niece, Stacy Miller (Jim) of Saltillo; three nephews, Jason Sanders of Blue Springs, Matt Murphy (Sheena) of Myrtle, and Chris Murphy (Susan) of Smyrna, Tenn.; three great-nieces, Mary Caitlin, Alanna, and Ally; and two great-nephews, Sam and Cole
She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandmother, Minnie Vee Dillard
Pallbearers will be Chris Murphy, Matt Murphy, Jason Sanders, and Jim Miller.
