ANN POWELL Tupelo - Elizabeth Ann Powell, 83, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory. Ann was born September 21, 1930 to James Douglas and Elizabeth Shoulders Powell. For several years, she worked as a cashier in area restaurants, where she made many friends. She was a long time resident of Tupelo, where she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Upon moving to the Plantersville area, she attended First Baptist Church of Plantersville. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m to 3:00 p.m. at the Jefferson Street Chapel. Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Tupelo Memorial Park with Rev. Danny Balint officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include one niece, Shirley Griffin (Rick) of Jackson; one great-niece, Amy Schrock (Fred) of Jackson; one great-nephew, Chandler Griffin (Alison) of New York City, New York; one great-great niece, Piper Schrock of Jackson; and one great-great nephew, Griffin Schrock of Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, June Maynard. Family members and Deacons of first Baptist Church of Plantersville will serve as honorary pallbearers.
