ANN NORTON Tupelo - Ann Katherine Norton, 98, died Sunday, December 7, 2014, at Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. She was born October 6, 1916 to the late Dan H. and Mary E. Rhodes Long. Ann found beauty in flowers and loved working in her yard. She worked in the retail industry including the Gizmo, and also managed hotels in different states. She loved and adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren treasuring the times she spent with them. She was a member of Auburn Baptist Church, participating in WMU and the Joy Club. She taught Sunday School and led Vacation Bible School for many years. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Jefferson Street Chapel with Rev. Bob O'Neal officiating. Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include three children; Mary Lou Ohl of Paris, Illinois, Nancy Baker of Tupelo, MS, Polly Boone (Frank) of Meridian, MS; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Norton; three sisters; her parents; a step-brother and step-son, John E. Norton. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to service time, Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
