Saltillo- Angela Raye Abner, 51, went to her heavenly home on December 12, 2018, after a nearly three-year battle with cancer.
She was born as the third daughter on November 22, 1967 in Florence, Alabama.
Angy was a career nurse for 22 years at the North Mississippi Medical Center following her true passion of helping and caring for others. In those years, she made some of the very best friends and had a profound impact on the lives of so many families. Angy’s incredible spirit and personality was so infused with life and happiness that it spilled over onto everyone she encountered.
She was completely dedicated to her children in all aspects of their lives and always encouraged them to never give up and to pursue their life goals. Angy sincerely loved all people and was a true reflection of bravery, independence, grace and beauty to all who had the honor of knowing her. In her free time, she loved to travel.
She was also an avid golfer who never missed an opportunity to hit the links with friends and family. Angy loved to play with her dog - “Bo”, and spend as much time possible with her daughters, granddaughter, sisters and friends. The absolute light of her life was her granddaughter, Addisyn Rae, who gave Angy so much pride and light from the day that she was born.
She is survived by her two daughters, Hollye Abner of Fort Worth, Texas and Morgan Knight (Austin) of Tupelo; her granddaughter, Addisyn; her parents, Wayne and Vel Orsborn of Cherokee, Alabama; two sisters, Donna Davis (Terrell) of Shannon and Charlene Gannon (Mike) of Tupelo; her brother Bear Orsborn (Angie) of Aliceville, Alabama; three step-sisters, Gaye Stanford (Jason) of Auburn, Cherry Orsborn of Corinth and Kandy Walker (Rodney) of Saltillo; four uncles; one aunt; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and the best group of lifelong friends one could hope for.
PER Angy’s request, a celebration of life will be held in her honor on Saturday, December 15th, beginning at 4 p.m. at the Natchez Trace Golf Club, Saltillo. She requested a time of fun, laughs and bright colors.
