Tupelo - Andy Pearson, Sr., 82, died Friday, July 23, 2010, at The North Mississippi Medical Center. A native of Clarksdale, he was born October 28, 1927, to William Joseph and Alice Virginia Fowler Pearson. He graduated from Clarksdale High School and then attended Delta State University. He lived in Tupelo the past 40 years. He was a loving father and grandfather and enjoyed the time he spent with them.
A Stateroom Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ruth Pearson of Tupelo; two children, Avah Pearson Anderson (Buck) of Cleveland, Tex. and Andy Pearson Jr. (Mila) of Saltillo; three grandchildren, Adam Pearson Anderson, Anna Christine Anderson, and Daniel Robert Pearson; six nephews, Billy Pearson, Bobby Pearson, Thomas Pearson, Rodney Pearson, George Pearson, and Randy Phillips; and one niece, Jackie Pearson Bankston.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Joseph Pearson; his mother, Alice Pearson Andrews; his step-father, William Walter Andrews; his aunt Cary Fowler Tee OCallaghan; two brothers, Will Joe Pearson and Thomas "Babe" Pearson.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
