Alvin L. "Pete" Russom, Jr.
Pontotoc - Alvin L. "Pete" Russom, Jr., 65, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice after battling a brief illness. He was born January 27, 1952 to Alvin and Marie Russom in Waterford, Mississippi.
Pete worked for the Mississippi Department of Transportation and, later, Marshall County Road and Bridge until his disability 28 years ago. Pete loved hunting, fishing and watching Western films. He attended Spring Hill Baptist Church in Waterford throughout his life.
Survivors include his daughters, Sara Brooks of New Albany and Leann Russom of Medora, Indiana; grandchildren, Luke, Sawyer and Keegan Brooks of New Albany and Chrissy Bray of Scottsburg, Indiana; and great-grandchild Matthew Bray of Scottsburg, Indiana.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Spring Hill Baptist Church in Waterford with Dr. David Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Cody Brooks, Scott White, Dustin Tidwell and Jim Robinson.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Spring Hill Baptist Church.
