ALVIN LeBLANC Saltillo - Alvin LeBlanc, 85, died Friday, May 29, 2015, at his residence in Saltillo after a lengthy illness. He was born in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, October 1, 1929 to John LeBlanc and Inez Orillion LeBlanc. Alvin was in the United States Navy where he served in Japan for four years. October 26, 1990, he married Mrs. Lola Dunaway. He retired, after 30 years, from Louisiana Power and Light. He also worked 22 years at Kroger until declining health. Alvin was a member of St. James Catholic Church and was a 4th Degree with the Knights of Columbus. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2015, at the Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Father Lincoln Dall officiating. Burial will be in the Saltillo Cemetery. Survivors include one son, Bernard Alvin "Jr." LeBlanc, Jr. (Donna) of Springfield, Louisiana; step-children, Nancy Norwood (Marty) of Ackerman, Cindy Yarbrough (Brian), and David Buchanan of Saltillo; two grandchildren, Bernard Alvin "Tre'" LeBlanc, III of Springfield, Louisiana; Shane LeBlanc (Rena) of Ticfaw, Louisiana; five step grandchildren, Lillie, Mollie, Sam, Grace, and Art; one sister Byrdie Collier of Metarie, Louisiana; one brother Bobby LeBlanc of Ponchatoula, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by one son, Larry LeBlanc; one grandson, Laramie LeBlanc; one stepson, Eddie Buchanan; one brother, Allie LeBlanc; one sister, Bertha Settoon. Pallbearers will be Rocky Dunaway, Ronnie Dunaway, Donnie Dunaway, Franklin, Dunaway, Brian Yarbrough, and Ken Gann. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2015, at the Saltillo Chapel. Expressions of sympathy may be left at www.peguesfuneralhome.com
