ALTON L. CLARK

Tupelo - ALTON L. "JACKIE" CLARK, 70, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at his home near Tupelo. He was born June 5, 1937 to Dessie Mae Henderson Clark and the late Jim Taylor Clark. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in Germany. He was employed by Comfort Engineering and retired from Tupelo Aluminum Products as a supervisor in 1999. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and visiting friends in the community. He was an active member of Birmingham Ridge Baptist Church.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2007 at Birmingham Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Holland officiating. Burial will be in Locust Hill Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Brenda B. Clark of Tupelo; one son, Jackie Lee Clark of Tupelo; one daughter Patricia Ann Grubbs and husband, Randy, of Shannon; his mother, Dessie Mae Shattles of Tupelo; two grandchildren, Michael and Maegan Grubbs, both of Shannon; two brothers-in-law, Robert Brown and wife, Renita, of Booneville and Roy Brown and wife, Bonnie, of Amory; one cousin, Angie Stennett of Tupelo; three nephews, Bobby Brown and wife, Tracy, of Saltillo, Roy Lee Brown, Jr., of Amory, and Cameron Groves of Tupelo.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Taylor Clark and his sister Jimmie Lee Gregory.

Pallbearers will be David Todd, John Moore, Paul Nunnlee, Leman Taylor, L.N. Tollison, and Tommy Horton

Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Dillard, Judge Mayo Grubbs, Randy Grubbs, and Donald Sentry..

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
