ALLENE WITT YOUNG Memphis - Allene Witt Young, 90, formerly of Saltillo, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at home. She was born in Prentiss County on August 18, 1924, to N. C. and Bela Nabors Ryan. Allene was an avid embroidery quilt maker, making many quilts for family and friends. She was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church in Harmon Town, MS. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2015 at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Dr. Roy H. Ryan and Rev. Paul M. Young officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Survivors include one son, Rick Witt (Anita) of Saltillo; one daughter, Sandy Witt of Memphis, Tennessee; one brother, Dr. Roy H. Ryan (Doris) of Tupelo; grandchildren, Geoff Witt,Steven Witt , Nick Witt, Chad Witt, Matt Witt, Stephanie Witt, Amanda May and Ryan Witt; great-grandchildren, Addie Grace Witt, Olivia Jade Witt, Ava Claire Witt, Katie Elizabeth May, Anna Caroline May, Mason Witt, Lilly Witt, Taylor Witt, Bailey Witt, and Brinley Robertson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Melvin Witt and her second husband, Joe Young; two sons, Jim Witt and Bobby Witt; two brothers, Lamar Ryan and J. R. Ryan. Honorary pallbearers will be Geoff Witt, Steven Witt, Jeff Franks, Tim Franks, Todd Robertson, Kevin Stewart, Joey Stewart and Price Young. Visitation was held 6 until 8 p.m., Thursday, February 12, 2015 at W. E. Pegues, Saltillo. A special thanks to her niece, Kitty Franks for her support and kindness over the past few months.
