Alice Cobb

August 19, 1928 — September 11, 2018

Tupelo-Mary Alice Cobb, 90, died Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at her residence. She was born in Sherman, Mississippi, August 19, 1928, to Tom and Fronie Mae Jackson Rial. She graduated from Sherman High School and relocated to the Tupelo area after she got her first job as a telephone operator at South Central Bell where she worked for a number of years.  Alice enjoyed sitting outside, drinking coffee, working puzzle books, playing Bingo with friends and helping everyone. She had a loving heart and enjoyed taking care of children, especially her grandchildren.  She also volunteered with the Salvation Army during their Holiday Meals. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church for a number of years where she worked as a Day School Teacher. She also attended Calvary Assembly in Plantersville with her daughter.



Survivors include two children, Beverly Cobb of Tupelo and Mark Cobb of Mooreville; three grandchildren, Kelby Cobb of Mooreville, Drake Cobb of Mooreville and Zayne Cobb of Franklin, Tennessee; one sister, Ethel Cook of Olive Branch; one brother, Robert Rial and his wife, Helen of Dixon, Tennessee; one sister-in-law, Deloris Rial of Saltillo and her daughter, Vicki; nephew, Shea Rial who visited her regularly; and numerous other nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.



She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of over 45 years before his passing, J.B. Cobb; one sister, Katherine Murphy and her husband, Fred; and three brothers, Bill Rial and his wife, Audrey, Roy Rial and his wife, Citie, and John Rial.



Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Calvary Assembly with a meal following in the Gathering Room at Tupelo Senior Apartments, 2488 N. Gloster St. Tupelo, MS 38804.
