Tupelo- Al Cohen, 79, died Monday, July 3, 2017. Al was born September 26, 1937 in New York, New York. Al went to undergrad at Hobart College in Geneva, New York and did graduate work at NYU and Stanford University. Al and his wife, Marilyn, have been members of Temple B'nai Israel since 1974 when they moved to Tupelo. They were the former owners of Fifth Ave. Card Shop.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday July 7, 2017 at Temple B'nai Israel, 1301 Marshall Street, Tupelo, Mississippi, 38804. There will be a private family burial.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Marilyn of Tupelo; children, Lisa and Stephen Quay of Austin, Texas and Jonathan and Rabbi Valerie Cohen of Holden, Massachusetts and four grandchildren, Rachel Quay of Minnesota, Amanda Quay of Pennsylvania, Gabriel Cohen and Marisa Cohen of Holden, Massachusetts.
Memorials may be made to Temple B'nai Israel, Post Office Box 515, Tupelo, Mississippi, 38802.
