ALBERT LACKEY Tupelo - Albert P. Lackey, Jr., passed away May 23, 2015, at his home. He was born to Albert P. Lackey Sr. and Addie Holcomb Lackey on February 25, 1928, in Lee County, Mississippi. He was a member of Belden Baptist Church and enjoyed visiting West Jackson Baptist Church with his wife, Betty. He graduated from Verona High School and lived his entire life in Tupelo and Lee County. An avid sports fan, Al was a little league baseball coach for many years and won several city championships. In his younger years, he enjoyed golf and anything that involved being outdoors. He was a great storyteller and enjoyed putting his twist on how things were long ago, as well as current events. He is survived by his wife, Betty; one son, Bobby (Laura) of Germantown, Tennessee; two daughters, Barbara Kruckenberg of Tupelo and Mary Baker (Harry) of University Park, Florida. He is also survived by his beloved stepson, Gary Malone of Pontotoc; grandchildren, Robin Lackey Clanton (Jonathan), Kensey Kruckenberg, Chris Malone (Allyson), Karren Baker, Kevin Baker (Vanessa); great-grandchildren, Smythe Kuebler, Kaleb Malone, Hayes Malone, Gabe Malone, Sawyer Malone, Maynor Malone, Grant Baker and Mark Baker. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alton Lackey and Toy Lackey and one sister, Sadie Caldwell. At Al's request, the family will have a private service. W. E.
