TUPELO, MS – Albert Edward Kruger, 94, passed away Saturday, Feb, 13, 2016 in Tupelo, MS. He was born in Chicago on October 22, 1921, to Albert and Anna Kruger (nee Westpfahl). He was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Tupelo, MS and a long time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Round Lake Park, IL from the 1960s until retirement to Tupelo in 1990.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, Albert served our country honorably in Company B of the 16th Armored Engineers of the First Armored Division during World War II from 1942 to 1945 in both North Africa and Italy.

Survivors include his sister, Dorothy; his daughter, Joyce Lynch (Jim) of Seattle, WA and their children Karen and Kevin; Terry Kruger (Ann) of Mauston, WI and their daughter Heidi; Darlene Polsgrove (Michael) of Grayslake, IL and their children Matthew and Sarah; and step nephews, Paul Christian (Valerie) of Huntsville Alabama, Victor Christian of Huntsville, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by both parents; his wife Matilda Kruger (nee Donner) (married 36 years), his 2nd wife Hazel Kruger (nee Christian) (married 26 years); his sister, Lorraine Reum (Harvey); brother-in-law Henry Donner; his son Albert E. Kruger; his nephew Theodore Donner; and his granddaughter, Laura Kruger.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Justen Funeral Home, in Round Lake, IL on. Saturday, February, 20, 2016, A service at the funeral home will follow immediately followed by a graveside service at Avon Cemetery in Grayslake.

Arrangements in Tupelo are being handled by W. E. Pegues Funeral Home.
