ALANA HICKMAN Nettleton - Alana Hickman, 52, passed away Friday, March 7, 2014, at her home after a sudden illness. A Tupelo native, she was born September 26, 1961, to John Thomas and Jeanett Irvin Cayson. She was a long time resident of the VanBuren Community. A waitress, she had worked in the food court in the mall. Going to auctions, yard sales and especially listening to her favorite gospel music were a few of her much loved hobbies. Pentecostal by faith, she loved going to church. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. David Hendricks officiating. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors will be in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include her husband of ten years, James Hickman of the VanBuren Community; five step-children, Richard Hickman of the VanBuren Community, Emily Whitaker (Frankie) of Fulton, Debra Mills (Jamie) of the VanBuren Community, Patricia Haynes (Chris) of Saltillo and Daniel Hickman of Saltillo; her mother, Janette Cayson of Plantersville; one grandaughter, Sarah Nicole Mills. She was preceded in death by her father; her grandparents and one grandaughter, Anastasha Whitaker. Visitation will be 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at the Saltillo Funeral Home.
