Alfred Henry Wallace, III Tupelo- Alfred Henry Wallace, III, affectionately known by all who knew him as "Big Al," died on December 12, 2014, in Tupelo, Mississippi, surrounded by his family. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at the First Presbyterian Church in Tupelo, beginning at 12:30 p.m., with funeral services to follow at 3:00 p.m. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Al was born on February 14, 1952, in Tupelo, Mississippi. Al graduated from Tupelo High School and Ole Miss, in 1970 and 1974, respectively. Al married Rochelle Simmons on December 14, 1974. They have two sons, Al Wallace, IV and John Gray Wallace. Big Al was loved by all who knew him. He was RoRo's husband, Al and Gray's Dad, his granddaughters' "Gig Al," coach and dear friend to many. He served as a Ruling Elder at First Presbyterian Church and loved teaching preschool Sunday School. Big Al loved to cook with family, duck hunt and cheer on the Ole Miss Rebels. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family and spoil his four granddaughters. Big Al is survived by his wife, Rochelle, of Tupelo; his sons and daughters-in-law, Al IV and Tisha Wallace of Tupelo, and their daughters Taylor, Emma Claire and Gracie Mae; Gray and Katie Wallace of Kosciusko, and their daughter Liza; his brother and sister-in-law, Presly and Kathy Wallace; his sister Kathy Wallace and Kate Wottowa; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Ron and Sharon Phillips, and Ben and Catherine Simmons; nieces and nephews Amanda, Abby, Todd, Bryant, Michael, Benjamin, and Stephanie; Aunt Kitty Reed of Tupelo; Uncle Jerry McCamic of Wheeling, West Virginia and many other dear family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Al Jr. and Grace Wallace; father and mother-in-law Ben and Johnnie Simmons; sister, Louise and nephew, Presly Wallace, Jr. Pallbearers are Brent Heavener, J. C. Kendrick, Rob Lesley, Luke McAlpin, Brian Rigby and Wesley Webb. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Session of First Presbyterian Church Tupelo, Mississippi. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Presbyterian Church of Tupelo, Mississippi, or the Sanctuary Hospice House.
