AL LANEY
Evergreen Community - Alfred A. Laney, Jr., 48, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017, at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born in Amory on February 15, 1969, to Alfred and Jodie McDaniel Laney. He graduated from Itawamba Agricultural High School. Al worked at Evan's Lumber for numerous years at varies positions until his retirement. He also did some taxidermy work from his home. Al loved the outdoors from fishing to riding four-wheelers and was an avid deer hunter. He loved his friends and family and was a member of Evergreen United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Jodie Laney of the Evergreen Community; daughters, Amanda Allison Laney Rogers (Wesley) of the Evergreen Community and Megan Nichole Loague (Wesley) of the Peaceful Community; brother, Tony McDaniel of the Evergreen Community; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Laney, Sr. and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. E. McDaniel and Mr. and Mrs. Crafton Laney.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, September 18, 2017, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with visitation from 12 p.m. until service time Monday. Rev. Jared White will be officiating the services and graveside services will follow in New Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Phillip White, Doyle House, Tony Riley, Jeffery Holloway, Danny Chumney, Paul White, Jeff Rainey and David "Hank" Hankins.
