AL EICHLER Tupelo - Alfred Tennyson Eichler, Jr., 64, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2014, at the Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 3, 1950 to Alfred Tennyson, Sr. and Dorothy Lucille Valentine Eichler. A Thomas Jefferson High School graduate, in Jefferson Borough near Pittsburgh, he then went on to Penn State University where he graduated in 1972 with a B.S. in business administration with his major in accounting. Al moved to Tupelo in 1998 and started working as an accountant for Day-Brite Manufacturing. He enjoyed golf and bowling. Al was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State Nittany Lions fan. He faithfully attended Calvary Baptist Church and played the saxophone in the church orchestra. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors with Rev. Doug Spires officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Park in Pittsburgh, PA. Survivors include one sister, Donna Krason (Ken) of Tupelo; one niece, Liz Krason of Tupelo; one nephew Tim Krason (Ashley) and their children Isaac and Tanner Krason all of Clinton and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Tennyson, Sr. and Dorothy Lucille Valentine Eichler. Visitation will be 4 - 9 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo. Visitation will also be 4 - 9 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2014. at Griffith Mortuary in Pittsburgh, PA. Pallbearers will be Bill Valentine, Ken Krason, Tim Krason, Michael Valentine, Ryan McDonald and Sean McDonald. Honorary Pallbearers will be Travis Wampler, Keith Reece and Steve Hurt. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Music Ministry, PO Box 1008, Tupelo, MS 38802.
