AILEEN DAVIS

Pontotoc - Aileen Crump Davis, 83, died Friday, July 24, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North MS after a short illness. She was born February 6, 1926 to Ira and Lillian Caldwell Crump. After graduating in 1941 from Sherman High School, she attended Draughns Business College in Memphis. After graduation, she married and moved to Camden, New Jersey where she lived 19 years before returning to Sherman. She retired from Super Sagless after 19 years and also worked a number of years at Paynes Fish and Steak House. She had lived the past nine years at the Sunshine Health Services in Pontotoc. She was very active in their activities. Since childhood, she was a member of Sherman Baptist Church. She enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls and had acquired an extensive collection.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2009 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Mike Smith and Rev. Ted Burcham officiating. Burial will be in Sherman Cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter, Patti Burcham and her husband, Ted; two grandchildren, Amanda Self and husband, Sam, and Drew Burcham, all of Thaxton; two great grandchildren, Isaac and Reid; one sister, Sue Comer and husband, Ernie, of Sherman; one brother, Lester Ray Crump and wife, Peggy, of Tupelo; one special aunt, Erma Pope of Tupelo; two sisters-in-law, Callie Crump and Gladys Crump of Tupelo

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Murray Crump and Sammy Crump.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will the staff of Sunshine Health Services.

Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2009 at the funeral home.
