AGNES TIPTON

Auburn Community - Agnes Mae Tipton, 82, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born in Friars Point on May 16, 1930, to James Cecil and Mary Katherine McCullum Bass. On April 26, 1968, she married Robert R. Tipton in Greenville and for the past thirty years lived in the Auburn Community. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing and fishing. She was a member of Hughes Chapel Baptist Church.

Services will be 12:00 Noon Saturday, December 29, 2012 at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. John Stevens and Rev. Brenda G. Harrison officiating. Graveside services will follow in Valley Grove Cemetery with Rev. Chris Stacks officiating.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Robert R.Tipton of the Auburn Community; four daughters, Velma J. West of Tupelo, Brenda G. Harrison (Richard) of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Barbara S. McMillen of Auburn Community, and Sherry A. Wright (James Wright, Jr.) of the Auburn Community; one son, James S. Hester of Auburn Community; one brother, James E. Bass (Dorothy) of the Auburn Community; six sisters, Lea Voyles of Pontotoc, Lottie B. Norman of the Auburn Community, Betty S. Bass of the Auburn Community, Joyce Seroggins (Wayne) of Pontotoc, Jeanette Stacks (Forrest) of Saltillo and Glenda J. Karr (Loyd) of Orangeburg, Florida; twenty-two grandchildren, fifty great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, James Robert Hester and Eddie A. Hester; two brothers, Rev. Ottis Bass and Bayward Bass; her first husband and father of her children, Holly S. Hester.

Pallbearers will be Richard A. Harrison, Jr., Billy Wayne Bishop, Charles E. Sutherland, Kiefer Sutherland, Kevin W. George, Terry Joe Hardin, II.

Honorary pallbearers will be James G. Wright , III and Eddie H. Hester.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 at the funeral home.
