Agnes Easterling Loden

AGNES LODEN Birmingham Ridge - Agnes Easterling Loden, 79, died Thursday, January 7, 2016, at her residence after a lengthy illness.  She was born in Saltillo on May 27, 1936, to Herman Otis and Charlie Fay Wood Easterling.  After graduating from Saltillo High School in 1954, Agnes began working as a bookkeeper for several area auto dealerships. As children came into her life, she stayed home to care for them. She returned to work in 1988, retiring in 2002, as bookkeeper for the Lee County Baptist Association. She was a very active member of Saltillo First Baptist Church. Her life revolved around her church and her family.  Agnes followed her children and grandchildren through numerous sporting activities and also enjoyed cooking with her family.  She served as assistant 4-H leader for twelve years with her daughter. Agnes was a devoted caregiver to her parents and her Aunt Evelyne Riley.   Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 10, 2016, at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Dr. Ronnie Hatfield officiating.  Graveside services will follow in McNeil Cemetery.  W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include one daughter, Lori Bostick (Larry) of the Birmingham Ridge Community; one son, Andy Loden (Rita) of Saltillo; her grandchildren, Brianna Holt of Birmingham Ridge, Lexi Loden of Saltillo, Tommy Bostick, Kristian Joshlin (Chris), and Bethany Poppelreiter all of Saltillo; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Walton (Joe) of Hermitage, Tenn., and Linda Holcomb (Don) of Fulton; brothers-in-law, Jerry Loden of Philadelphia and James Wood of Birmingham Ridge; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years, Ebb Loden, Jr. on March 26, 2014; and her brothers, Thomas Easterling (Dean) and James Easterling. Pallbearers will be Steve Carlock, Scott Wood, Lee Prestage, Tommy Baldwyn, Jason Walton, Joe Porch and Chris Joshlin. Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Walton, G. T. Bostick, and Steve Moxley. Visitation will be 4 until 8 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2016, at W. E. Pegues, Saltillo and 11 a.m. until service time Sunday. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Right at Home caregivers, Christy Simmons and Alice Thompson.
