Mooreville- Steven Ray Posey, 8 days after his 57th birthday, died Monday, March 15, 2021 at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born March 7, 1964 in Tupelo to Gordon Ray Posey and Carol Lee Towery Posey. Steve spent his younger years and adult life in Mooreville. He was self employed and a very talented automobile mechanic. He enjoyed metal scrapping and his driving around in his 1997 Green Chevrolet Truck. He attended Living Waters Church in the Eggville Community. He enjoyed spending time with his brother, Bobbie Posey and his cousin, who was like a brother, Kenneth Harris.

He is survived by his mother, Carol Towery Reed of Saltillo; one son, Justin Posey; one grandson; two granddaughters all of Tallahassee, Florida; three sisters, Anita McCullough of Baldwyn, Tonya Poe and her husband, Robert of Blue Springs, and Nancy Hall of Mooreville; one brother, Bobby Posey and his wife, Pat of Mooreville; six nieces; two nephews; and numerous great- nieces and great- nephews.

Steve is preceded in death by his father, Gordon Ray Posey; infant daughter, Stephanie Posey; nephew, Dimitri Hall; and grandparents, Ruby and Gordon Posey and Minnie and Elvin Towery.

Visitation will be 12 until service time Friday, March 19, 2021 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.

Services honoring his life will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2021 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Neal Ramage Officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Mantachie.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Posey, Billy Towery, Kenneth Harris, and Cody Poe.
